In Support of John Roberts
The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) has an online letter that you can fill in that will be sent to your senators asking them to support the nomination of Judge John Roberts as Chief Justice to the Supreme Court.
I must say that I found it disgraceful that Senators such as Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy are voting NO on Judge John Roberts’ nomination to the Supreme Court. He is totally qualified and no one can find any reason to oppose him. Now, it is just not me saying that, but my hometown paper, The Washington Post. Oh, they didn’t call Hillary “disgraceful” as I did, but they took a swipe at her. I certainly cannot understand why she is doing as she is, as it can only hurt her during a Presidential bid.
In an editorial on September 24th WaPo entitled, “The Right Vote“, credit was given to the three Judiciary Committee Democrats who are supporting Roberts, Senators Leahy, Feingold and Kohl, writing “Supporting overwhelmingly qualified members of the opposite party for the Supreme Court used to be the norm, not an act of courage.” Here is where the swipe at Hillary comes in. The WaPo lamented that “liberal groups” (read Hillary’s supporters) have already announced their opposition to the next nominee, “regardless of qualifications, temperament or testimony.“
