I have always had a pipe dream that someday Fox News would replace that blowhard of a braggart Bill O’Reilly with my favorite Fox Star - John Gibson. Maybe now is the time to petition the wiley Fox. O’Reilly seems to be hallucinating that he is now an advisor to President George W. Bush, as he has recently urged the President to withdraw military protection for the city of San Francisco. I know his comments were supposedly satire, but he issued an invitation to Al-Qaida, which is quite “o’re the top”. “If al-Qaida comes in here and blows you up, we’re not going to do anything about it. We’re going to say, look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead,” O’Reilly said.
Bill needs to reread the U.S. Constitution. San Francisco and much of coastal California deserve distain for much of their culture and actions, but nothing they do merits cutting them off from the country and calling in al-Qaida. This is the same as the leftists who equalize Muslim fundamentalists with Christian fundamentalists, or all of Christianity.
KRON News has all the video and audio at their site. San Francisco’s Coit Tower is a monument to the firefighters who fought the fires of San Francisco’s great earthquake. Firefighters are America’s heroes — even those in San Francisco. John Hanley, president of the San Francisco Firefighter’s Union Local 798, said “Coit Tower is a monument to the bravery of the men and women of the San Francisco Fire Department. When Bill O’Reilly makes an attack on Coit Tower, he’s attacking us and our bravery.”
Seems to me that Fox’s Bill owes an apology, but he is continuing to blackguardly rant on and dig himself deeper into the slime. The Political Teen has more including the audio. Of course some blogs think even worse - of course.

I do not wholly agree with your assessment that Bill O’Reilly owes anyone an apology. I agree with your comments on California and that O’Reilly is a blowhard. However, he was only saying what so many do not have the gumption to say, that San Francisco really is very un-American of a city. It is extremely disturbing that they continue to ban military recruiters from their city. They truly are a very immoral city.

Let’s all miss the point
How to make stupidity stew: Step 1: San Francisco supports a wacky proposition to make military access to public schools more difficult. This is a perfect example of the left wing playbook. Every student is free to decide what

You write in your piece that O’Reilly needs to go back and re-read the US Constitution and make very valid points. However, you should re-read the 1st Amendment about freedom of speech. I have heard the idiot’s outburst, but he did not call for a terrorist’s attack. He spoke on what he would do if he were the President. I don’t think that he shall ever be president, but he still has the right to express his opinion, no matter how stupid it is.

Friend of Liberty - banning military recruiters is an old story. It was done all over the U.S during the Vietnam era. It is certainly not in the American spirit to do such, but as you say, there are jurisdictions that are “unAmerican”. I believe that Bill O’Reilly owes an apology for giving permission to al-Qaida to blow up a part of America - especially a monument to firefighters. As I say, that was “over the top” for me. I have never been a fan of O’Reilly. I don’t watch his show, but I see him sometimes when I’m surfing. Perhaps I am not a good judge, but I did watch the video, and I listened to his outrageous rant of a follow-up.

HiTec - I never said anything about “abridging the freedom of speech” of Bill O’Reilly, “or of the press”, if he fits that definition. I am only expressing my opinion that his comments were unAmerican! O’Reilly disagrees and so do others. However, he said to al-Qaida “every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead,”. I believe that is an outrageous thing to say publicly, even in jest, and I pray that most of America never sinks so low as to want to do that.
