Supreme Court, courts, abortion, WaPoNovember 15, 2005 6:45 pm

Oh the shocking news that has just been revealed by WaPo et al! A document released Monday shows that in 1985, Samuel Alito wrote to the Reagan administration that he was particularly proud to help argue that “the Constitution does not protect a right to an abortion.” What does it portend for the survival of the republic? Well, the good news is that it proves that Samuel Alito has actually read the Constitution.

Alito also wrote in the document that he believed “very strongly in limited government, federalism, free enterprise, the supremacy of the elected branches of government, the need for a strong defense and effective law enforcement and the legitimacy of a government role in protecting traditional values.” ~~The Washington Post

A real bomb-thrower, isn’t he?

George Bush, war, Democrats, Bill Clinton 5:26 pm

The Democrats in the Congress say that he did. It must be because he said the exact same thing about Iraq that their favorite President, Bill Clinton said. GOOGLE IT!

“Clinton: Iraq has abused its last chance” from CNN.com, December 16, 1998.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — From the Oval Office, President Clinton told the nation Wednesday evening why he ordered new military strikes against Iraq. The president said Iraq’s refusal to cooperate with U.N. weapons inspectors presented a threat to the entire world.

“Saddam (Hussein) must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas or biological weapons,” Clinton said.

bookMs. Valerie SpyPlame-Wilson wasn’t the only Washington secret agent involved in the WMD intrigue of the Bush administration. With all the glamour and fame that seems to attend Langley’s safely ensconced local spy rings, even Senators are trying to enter the fray, perhaps, hoping to appear on the cover of “Vanity Fair” à la fair Spy-Plame.

“While Democrats in Washington are berating the White House for having prewar intelligence wrong, a high-profile U.S. senator, member of the Select Committee on Intelligence, who has a name more internationally recognizable than Richard Cheney’s, tells two putative allies (Saudi Arabia and Jordan) and an enemy who is allied with Saddam Hussein (Syria) that the United States was going to war with Iraq.”

“U.S. SENATOR JAY ROCKEFELLER: ‘I took a trip by myself in January of 2002 to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and I told each of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up his mind to go to war against Iraq — that that was a predetermined set course which had taken shape shortly after 9/11.’William J. Bennett, “National Review Online”

Kerfuffles would like to know why it is that the American spies we know, always seem to work for the other side? Don Surber asks “What Did Dems Know & When Did They Forget It?” The GOP has the answers with a new video: Republican National Committee. Meanwhile, there seems to be a rumored message from Lady Spy Plame to a certain patrician West Virginny Senator: “Leave the spying to the pros, Bubba!”
