Rules from the Democrats’ Playbook:
Take a stand on both sides of every political issue and you will always come out a winner! For example, if the war in Iraq succeeds, former President Bill “Wily” Clinton will proclaim himself the hero, tauting his “Iraq Liberation Act of 1998″. In the words of Bill Clinton in 1998:
“The United States favors an Iraq that offers its people freedom at home. I categorically reject arguments that this is unattainable due to Iraq’s history or its ethnic or sectarian make-up. Iraqis deserve and desire freedom like everyone else. The United States looks forward to a democratically supported regime that would permit us to enter into a dialogue leading to the reintegration of Iraq into normal international life.
“My Administration has pursued, and will continue to pursue, these objectives through active application of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. The evidence is overwhelming that such changes will not happen under the current Iraq leadership.”
If, on the other hand, the United States military fails us in Iraq, former President Bill Clinton will still be the hero, as he will remind one and all of his poignant words to Arab students that the United States made a “big mistake” when it invaded Iraq, citing the lack of planning for what would happen after the dictator was overthrown.
November 16 2005, DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - “It was a big mistake. The American government made several errors … one of which is how easy it would be to get rid of Saddam and how hard it would be to unite the country.” His response drew cheers and a standing ovation at the end of the hour-long session.
The former commander-in-chief of America’s armed forces explained that the present military leaders of his country are implementing flawed strategy. “The mistake that they made is that when they kicked out Saddam, they decided to dismantle the whole authority structure of Iraq. … We never sent enough troops and didn’t have enough troops to control or seal the borders … the terrorists came in.” Clinton said it would have been better if the United States had left Iraq’s “fundamental military and social and police structure intact.”
UPDATE: “American Daughter” was inspired to pen a bit of verse to go from the Joni Mitchell tune of her song “Clouds” - just for our Wily Clinton:
He’s argued this from both sides now,
From left and right and still somehow,
It’s Bill’s is…is we still recall,
He never tells the truth at all.

What part of …..
“through active application of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions”
means pre-emptive war.
