20th Century Scorecard

  • Chinese Communists = 77,000,000 murdered
  • Soviet Union Communists = 61,911,000 murdered
  • Nazi Germany’s Hitler = 20,946,000 wiped out 1933-1945

Silly you! You thought George Bush and Dick Cheney were the top mass murderers of all time.

For perspective on the bloody rule of communism, all wars between 1900-1987 including WWI and WWII, Vietnam, Korea, and the Mexican and Russian Revolutions cost 34,021,000 combat deaths. The Chinese communists alone murdered over twice as many as were killed in combat in all these wars, according to Democratic Peace:

“Now, my overall totals for world democide 1900-1999 must also be changed. I now estimate it to be 212,000,000 murdered, of which communist regimes murdered about 148,000,000. Also, compare this to combat dead. Communists overall have murdered four times those killed in combat, while globally the democide toll was over six times that number.”

And as we are keeping score, let us not forget that the same folks who were singing the praises of Détente during the Cold War against communism, are now advising that we learn to understand and get along with the murderous culture of Radical Islam. Praises to Ronald Reagan and the Cold Warriors for defeating the scourge of communism. Now let freedom ring for the untold masses under the bloody threat of Islamism, and that includes the good ole USA. Pray for victory over Fascism in the ongoing battles of WWIII in which we are now engaged.

Kerfuffles, liberals, WaPo 9:43 am

It seems that the Liberal Long Knives are out for The Washington Post’s Bob Woodward ever since he spouted out the truth about the Plame Kerfuffle — that it was all about nothing. The New York Daily News is reporting that the widow of John Belushi has rounded up some friends to tar and feather Woodward because he also told the truth about Belushi’s drug abuse.

Al Franken remembers seeing Woodward in the office of “SNL” producer Lorne Michaels. “I went over to [Woodward] and said, ‘Well, you know, the only time I ever saw John snorting coke was with [Woodward’s colleague] Carl Bernstein.’ And that was the last I ever heard from him.” (Franken assures us that he was just kidding.)

Writer Tony Hendra says Woodward “certainly gave the impression he didn’t like Belushi very much. He wasn’t interested in the guy’s achievements in any way. He was out to prove that Belushi was symptomatic of some generational defect, which I felt was contemptible.”
