Somehow, Kerfuffles has found herself upon the Democrats’ mailing list. Yes, it’s true that Barney Frank’s sister, Anne Lewis, has been spamming Kerfuffles in the hopes of receiving donations to beat back those “wascally wepublicans”. Here’s the latest about Justice Sunday and that extremist Senator, Rick Santorum:
Ed at Captain’s Quarters was there, blogging the event.
Dear Kerfuffles - It’s unbelievable. On the eve of the Alito hearings, the most extreme of the Republican right wing is gathering in Philadelphia to launch the next phase of their assault on the federal judiciary.
And right in the middle of these extremists will be Senator Rick Santorum.
It’s called “Justice Sunday III”, and being billed as a religious event, but don’t be fooled. The event in Philadelphia will be broadcast to churches nationwide through Christian television and radio and it’s designed to build grassroots support for an overthrow of the sacred principle of separation of church and state.
Click here to tell Rick Santorum to stop pandering to the right wing extremists and support the American principle of separation of church and state!
The line up of right wing zealots at Justice III is impressive. Headlining the event is Jerry Falwell, who along with his compatriot Pat Robertson blamed the September 11th attacks on “the sins of the nation.” And of course that’s the same Pat Robertson who said Hurricane Katrina was God’s way of expressing his anger.
Also headlining is James Dobson, head of the powerful group Focus on the Family who believes a woman’s place is in the home: “My observation is that women are merely waiting for their husbands to assume leadership.”
These religious warriors believe the church should be the state — THEIR CHURCH AND THEIR STATE!
Are these the guys you want picking federal judges? Santorum? Dobson? Falwell and Robertson?
Rick Santorum has long been the errand boy of the extreme right. But in December he disappointed his bosses by backing away from intelligent design. Now he’s trying to regain their favor by supporting extreme right wing judges.
Click here to send a message to Rick Santorum - Stop pandering to the extreme right wing!
As Democrats, we aren’t opposed to religion, we’re opposed to a gaggle of false prophets trying to pack the courts with their cronies.
Don’t let them get away with it.
Stand up and be counted.
Click here to remind Rick Santorum about America’s commitment to an independent judiciary!
If you make your voice heard, then “Justice Sunday” will mark the beginning of the end for the extreme right’s efforts to take over the federal judiciary.
Believe it.
Sincerely, Anne Lewis
P.S. And let your friends know what’s going on. Please forward this email to your friends, alerting them to Justice Sunday III. And if you have friends in Pennsylvania, be sure they know where Rick Santorum will be this Sunday.
I did it Anne - I let everyone know about Justice Sunday III.

K.,
You are wrong: Anne Lewis and Barney Frank are not siblings.
They are the same person.
Have you ever seen them together at the same time, same place? Huh?
Best,
Jack Yoest

You are right Jack! I have never, ever seen them together at the same time - same place. What a scam! Thanks for the elucidation. Never again shall I underestimate what devious schemes that Democrats can hatch.
