John Murtha It has been a good long run these past 32 years, Congressman Murtha, but the time has come to pack it in and head on back to Pennsylvania, and a good long rest. I have been thinking that to be the case for the last few months, ever since you, the once patriotic and respected Democrat, at age 74, voluntarily jumped upon the Cindy Sheehan “no more war” bandwagon. A few weeks ago you were featured on Chris Matthew’s “Hard Boiled” show and these were your very words regarding our situation in Iraq.

“When you look at what’s happened in Iraq, you realize it’s the Iraqis fighting among themselves. Can you imagine if the French stayed in the United States after they helped us win the Revolutionary War? We would have thrown them out. And we had to have a Civil War to straighten it out.”

That statement makes absolutely no sense. What were you trying to say when you connected Iraq of today, the French during the American Revolution, and the Civil War?

However the final clincher came last week when I read that you, a distinguished retired Marine combat officer was hanging out with the likes of the flame-throwing congressman from Northern Virginia - James Moran. No doubt, Congressman Jack, you surely be suffering some sort of mental impairment. There is no other explanation for you to be so stridently undermining your country’s military warriors during wartime.

Congressman Murtha, if you are not suffering from some sort of mental dysfunction, then you should hang your head in shame for the spectacle that took place publicly where two warriors spoke and were afterwards disrespected by the Moran/Murtha audience of Democrats in Arlington, Virginia. No one expects any better of Congressman James Moran, considering his history in politics, but you, Congressman Murtha, offered not a word of support nor respect for the warriors, as Moran and the liberal crowd sneered and jeered their pleas.
