And Face Beyond the New ‘Do ~ Cynthia McKinney of Georgia!
“This whole incident was instigated by the inappropriate touching and stopping of me, a female, black congresswoman.” ~~Congresswoman Cynthia “I will not be ignored” McKinney
Those were the public words of an aggrieved and disrespected member of Congress, and standing beside her to prove her indictment of the offending police officer were an over-the-hill former Calypso crooner and a popular black Hollywood actor. In that one statement of outlandish charges, Congresswoman McKinney was expecting the country to believe that the policeman who gallingly asked for her identity, not once, but three times - was both a woman-hater and racist, while at the same time indulging himself with groping liberties upon the very person whose sex and race he abhorred. Nothing less would have been appropriate than for any charming and gracious Georgia lady so mistreated, than to slug the nosey officer with her cell phone, which is exactly what Ms. McKinney did!
And no wonder the dutiful policeman should be severely punished and lose his job, as … he was white! That is sin enough, as everyone knows, thanks to the Civil Rights movement, only black police officers are allowed to question a black woman congresswoman, especially about her “new ‘do”. Yes, Cynthia McKinney traded her long standing and distinctive hair style of neatly hanging braids with the “electrocuted” look, and for not recognizing the face beyond the new ‘do, any guard should be unceremoniously canned.
Better that one hundred guilty suicide-bombers should enter the Capitol, than to insult the dignity of one innocent and newly coiffed “female, black congresswoman”.
“The greater person is one of courtesy.” ~~Alfred Lord Tennyson
I’ll go back to Georgia
‘Cause that’s where I belong.
Georgia, Georgia, the whole day through
Just an old sweet song keeps Georgia on my mind.
Georgia, Georgia, a song of you
Comes as sweet and clear as moonlight through the pines.
Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you.
Georgia, Georgia, no peace I find
Just an old sweet song keeps Georgia on my mind.
