Bush right; Democrats wrong! Bush good; Joseph Wilson liar!

It Was “A Good Leak” and “PRESIDENT BUSH was right” shouts the WaPo editorial of today. It was “A Good Leak”, NOT a scandal, for George W. Bush to declassify some intelligence! No, Bushies, you have not died and gone to heaven. However, at this very moment in the dark caves and caverns of the blogosphere, moonbats are eating out their own lily-livered hearts at such betrayal by their own beloved WaPo.

“PRESIDENT BUSH was right to approve the declassification of parts of a National Intelligence Estimate about Iraq three years ago in order to make clear why he had believed that Saddam Hussein was seeking nuclear weapons. Presidents are authorized to declassify sensitive material, and the public benefits when they do.” ~~The Washington Post

And that is not all that WaPo wrote:

  • The “charges of misconduct and hypocrisy that Democrats are leveling” against the Bush administration are “hyperbolic”.
  • “There was nothing illegal or even particularly unusual about that …”
  • Ambassador Joseph Wilson is the villain! “The material that Mr. Bush ordered declassified established, as have several subsequent investigations, that Mr. Wilson was the one guilty of twisting the truth. In fact, his report supported the conclusion that Iraq had sought uranium.”
  • Joseph Wilson’s false allegations let to 2 1/2 years of investigation by Special Counsel Patrick J. Fitzgerald at the conclusion of which Mr. Fitzgerald reported that there was no evidence to support Mr. Wilson’s charge.
  • Special Counsel Fitzgerald disclosed in last week’s court filings that President Bush did NOT authorize the leak of Ms. Plame’s identity. “Mr. Libby’s motive in allegedly disclosing her name to reporters, Mr. Fitzgerald said, was to disprove yet another false assertion, that Mr. Wilson had been dispatched to Niger by Mr. Cheney. In fact Mr. Wilson was recommended for the trip by his wife.”
  • About those who seek to prove that the grounds for overthrowing Saddam Hussein were bogus the WaPo writes: “It’s unfortunate that those who seek to prove the latter would now claim that Mr. Bush did something wrong by releasing for public review some of the intelligence he used in making his most momentous decision.”

There you have it - Bush was right and Ambassador Wilson was lying all the time, according to “The Washington Post” editorial of 9 April 2006. Remember when Kerfuffles said that she suspected that the great child philosopher, Harry Potter, was going to be proved right in the end? He who said “Blessed be the giver, Cursed be the thief, May fortune smile upon the true, and liars come to grief” spoke wisely.
