Here is a man who has admitted to brutally murdering a teenage girl, Terri Winchell, 25 years ago while, as he claimed, he was high on PCP and alcohol. It has taken 25 years for the state to finally exact some justice, yet there are grievous concerns that he who administered unmentionable agony in his rape and slaughtering of a young woman, may himself feel some pain  The state cannot find medical doctors to administer the "painless death".  Why not call upon some of the many abortionists in California who everyday end the lives of innocent human beings without a care in the world about a "painless death"? Cannot one or two of those doctors be taken up to San Quentin to bring death to someone who is truly deserving?

Press-Telegram - News SAN QUENTIN — The planned execution of a man convicted of raping and murdering a 17-year-old girl was delayed until Tuesday night after two anesthesiologists refused to participate because of ethical concerns.

With the execution scheduled for 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, defense lawyers requested a stay from the federal judge who last week ordered San Quentin State Prison to have an anesthesiologist on hand to minimize Michael Angelo Morales’ pain as he was put to death by lethal injection. A second anesthesiologist was retained as a backup.

What about the relatives of the murder victim? The newspaper reports that they "were visibly upset". "There was a great deal of concern on their faces under the circumstances of some people that Michael Morales would not suffer. They find that to be very disturbing."

Give me a break!  Talk about justice from the halls of justice! Justice indeed.

Enshrining Justice Harry Blackmun’s Legacy to His Nation

At “Choose Life” I encountered the following quotes from the Left’s legal scholars:

  • This Court’s abortion decisions have already worked a major distortion in the Court’s constitutional jurisprudence….no legal rule or doctrine is safe from ad hoc nullification by this Court…in a case involving state regulations of abortion.” ~~Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, Thornburgh v. American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
  • Roe v. Wade…ventured too far in the change it ordered and presented an incomplete justification for its action.” ~~Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, North Carolina Law Review
  • One of the most curious things about Roe is that, behind its own verbal smokescreen, the substantive judgment on which it rests is nowhere to be found.” ~~Laurence Tribe, Harvard Law Professor, Harvard Law Review
  • Roe v. Wade is “a very bad decision…because it is not constitutional law and gives almost no sense of an obligation to try to be.” ~~John Hart Ely, Yale Law Professor, Yale Law Journal
  • As a matter of constitutional interpretation and judicial method, Roe borders on the indefensible…[it is] one of the most intellectually suspect constitutional decisions of the modern era.” ~~Edward Lazarus, former clerk to Justice Harry Blackmun (Author of Roe), FindLaw’s Writ
  • Since its inception Roe has had a deep legitimacy problem, stemming from its weakness as a legal opinion.” ~~Benjamin Wittes, Washington Post Legal Affairs Editorial Writer, The Atlantic Monthly

Oh the shocking news that has just been revealed by WaPo et al! A document released Monday shows that in 1985, Samuel Alito wrote to the Reagan administration that he was particularly proud to help argue that “the Constitution does not protect a right to an abortion.” What does it portend for the survival of the republic? Well, the good news is that it proves that Samuel Alito has actually read the Constitution.

Alito also wrote in the document that he believed “very strongly in limited government, federalism, free enterprise, the supremacy of the elected branches of government, the need for a strong defense and effective law enforcement and the legitimacy of a government role in protecting traditional values.” ~~The Washington Post

Virginia candidate for governor, Tim Kaine, claims that he is a “Pro-life” Democrat, but is he? No one knows for sure, because no one has ever met one in recent memory.

Virginia political science guru Larry Sabato said that Kaine’s approach is nothing more than what Democratic politicians have been doing since Jimmy Carter: Trying to split their personal and professional beliefs in two. Considering Kaine’s phrase, Sabato saw some semantic problems.

It would be like John Kerry saying ‘I’m conservative,’” Sabato said. “But there’s a definition of “conservative” that has been excepted.” It’s the same, he said, as Kaine saying “I’m pro-life.

There’s a commonly understood definition of that that makes that statement untrue,” Sabato said. “Come up with a different construction that doesn’t misuse that commonly understood term.” (from WaPa - “The Meaning of Pro-life“)

Who is Pro-Life in Virginia? Most of the Voters, that’s who! And that is why when …

Kaine talks to voters or the media, he enthusiastically details what he describes as his personally pro-life, pro-gun, and fiscally conservative leanings. There’s just one problem: None of it appears to be true. ~~Eric Pfeiffer, “National Review on Line

Democrat candidate for governor of Virginia, Tim Kaine, now describes himself as pro-life, taking a chapter from the losing 2004 campaign playbook of John Kerry. Trouble is, he used to say that he was a “proud liberal.” National Review on Line took a gander at Kaine’s public-campaign disclosures and found that the consulting group Struble Eichenbaum Communications has produced all of Kaine’s campaign advertisements in his governor’s race against Jerry Kilgore. Struble Eichenbaum Communications produced the controversial and refuted TV commercial for NARAL Pro-Choice America that lied about the record of Supreme Court nominee John Roberts. The ad was so outrageous that TV stations refused to run it. It was eventually pulled and a NARAL spokesperson resigned over it. Instead of condemning the NARAL ad, the Kaine campaign went and hired Struble Eichenbaum Communications, telling the Richmond Times-Dispatch, “We feel like the work they have done for us has been really good” and that Tim Kaine “feels strongly” about accuracy. The Kaine campaign has already paid Struble Eichenbaum a reported $124,103.

Tim Kaine has got the pro-life rhetoric down pat, but it clearly does not match his pro-abortion record. Would any truly pro-life candidate hire a media firm like Struble Eichenbaum Communications to disseminate his pro-life message?

Chris Cillizza at WaPo has picked up on the Struble kerfuffle, asking will Karl Struble extract revenge finally for his two big loses recently against Jerry Kilgore’s media consultant, Scott Howell. Howell orchestrated the big win in Georgia by Saxby Chambliss, and also was involved in the toppling of Tom Dashle, former Speaker of the House. In both races, Scott Howell was up against NARAL’s Struble firm. And you thought politics was all about the voters electing the representatives of “their” choice.

American Girl Dolls Linked to Abortion, Pro-Life Group Warns Parents

CHICAGO, IL — The Pro-Life Action League is warning parents of ties between the popular American Girl doll company and Girls Inc., a group that promotes abortion, lesbianism and easy access to birth control for teens.

In August, the American Girl company, a subsidiary of Mattel Toys, Inc., launched the “I Can” campaign, which involves taking a pledge and purchasing a special bracelet. Seventy cents of each one-dollar bracelet sold will be donated to Girls Inc. American Girl is also donating an additional $50,000 to Girls Inc.

“Parents need to know that this effort to promote self-esteem among girls is not as innocent as it seems,” commented League Executive Director Ann Scheidler. “While Girls Inc. has some good programs, they also support abortion, oppose abstinence-only education for girls, and condone lesbianism.

Ms. Scheidler gave a link to the Girls Inc. web site which declares that “girls need and have a right to . . . convenient access to safe, effective methods of contraception,” and that “Girls Incorporated supports a woman’s freedom of choice, a constitutional right established by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973 in Roe vs. Wade“. However, a few hours after publication of the link following, it was not working. UPDATE: It is now working. GirlsInc.com

Who Is That Masked Woman?
Superhero for Choice

She’s Planned Parenthood’s Superhero for Choice! Call Homeland Security - QUICK! We now have our own homegrown terrorists right under our noses in the City by the Bay - San Francisco, and funded by our own American taxpayers. Planned Parenthood’s Superhero For Choice kills pro-life Christians and abstinance educators in her never-ending quest to make America safe for abortion. This jaw-droppingly bad cartoon video’s message to youngsters “of color” is that white people are evil Christians and Planned Parenthood is their hero. The promotional is so awful that Planned Parenthood San Francisco removed it from their site, but not before it was downloaded by CNSNews.com: Planned Parenthood Promotional Video (WMV), featuring “Superhero for Choice”.

Watch as Superhero for Choice pounces upon some Pro-Life demonstrators in front of a Planned Parenthood clinic. After she shoots and explodes them all with her condom gun, she smiles and says “That’s more like it. Open for business $$! Now everyone who needs low cost and confidential health care may enter freely, without intimidation or violence.” I kid you not!

Meanwhile, Bill Bennett is being labelled a racist for commenting about a new book regarding abortion and its effect on society, even though he is opposed to all abortions. Those condemning him, excepting President Bush, are all strong supporters of Planned Parenthood and the “pro-Choice” movement, which have led directly to ten million American black babies aborted in the past 20 years. This promotional video created by Planned Parenthood is evidence that they are indeed targeting youngsters “of color” with their message. But hey, who’s noticing? Not any black leaders, as they are too busy trying to tar and feather a white “pro-life” commentator.

Other sources for downloads of the video that Rantin N Raven calls “The Planned Parenthood Murder Movie” are at View from the Nest, where Kerfuffles first encountered this abortion propaganda, and The Dawn Patrol.

Planned Eugenics

From whence came the “progressive” idea that aborting black babies would reduce the crime rate? Of course, from Margaret Sanger’s “Planned Parenthood”, 2004. Go to their website, www.plannedparenthood.org, and click on page 3 of their FAQ sheet titled “Medical and Social Health Benefits Since Abortion Was Made Legal in the U.S.” (pdf)

The legalization of abortion was a significant factor in the dramatic drop in crime in the U.S. in the 1990s.

* Previous research has established that a strong link exists between an adverse family environment and future criminal behavior; that maternal rejection is counted among the various qualitative aspects of parenting that provide the most accurate predictors of juvenile delinquency; and that having been born of a pregnancy that was unwanted by one’s mother is a circumstance that increases a person’s risk of committing violent crime (David, et al., 1988; Donohue & Levitt, 2001).
* At least one study reported that legalized abortion can account for about half the observed decline in crime in the U.S. since 1991. Homicide rates have fallen more than 40 percent, and violent crime and property crime have fallen more than 30 percent.
* The timing of the drop in crime corresponds to the period in which the first generation of children born after the legalization of abortion are reaching what are considered to be the peak ages of criminal activity (18–24 years old). Furthermore, states that legalized abortion before the rest of the nation did so were also the first states to experience decreasing crime rates.
* States with high abortion rates have seen a greater fall in crime since 1985, even after taking into account other factors that would be expected to influence the crime rate. Furthermore, these declines in crime rates in high-abortion states are disproportionately concentrated among those under the age of 25 (Donohue & Levitt, 2001).

Although the majority of women getting abortions are white, black women are more than 3 times as likely to have an abortion, and Hispanic women are 2.5 times as likely.

Bill Bennett must have read the Planned Parenthood Fact Sheet. However, Mr. Bennett denounced the idea of aborting black babies as “morally reprehensible.” Planned Parenthood, which knows that black babies are being aborted at a disproportionate rate, has never denounced the idea but explicitly champions abortion as a way of reducing crime rates. Do you suppose that those who attacked Bill Bennett as a racist will say the same about Planned Parenthood? Don’t bet your Jesse Jackson decoder ring on it, nor your NAACP tee shirt.

Is Not Always Good For You
Today, according to Breitbart.com and WaPo, the White House felt compelled to condemn as “not appropriate” a comment from someone who happens to be a Republican, but is in no way connected to the current Bush administration, William Bennett.

Bennett said on his radio show, in response to a caller; “But I do know that it’s true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could, if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country and your crime rate would go down.” He added that it would be a “morally reprehensible thing to do.

The comments were not appropriate because neither Bennett nor anyone else can know that the statement is true, as it has never been applied and will not be. Even though, he posited the statement as a fact, it really is only his opinion, which he, like everyone else should be entitled to have. Needless to say, the usual suspects jumped on the rolling wagon of hell-bent condemnations.

  • Senate Democratic Searchlight, Harry Reid of Nevada, said he was “appalled” by Bennett’s comments and said he hoped Republicans would condemn him.
  • Howard Dean, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, said the comments were “hateful, inflammatory” and asked whether they represented the values of the Republican party.
  • Civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton said on CNN that Bennett’s comments were “blatantly racist … stated as a fact that if you did this it would in fact lower the crime rate which clearly is him making blacks and crime synonymous.”

Bennett later explained: “I was putting forward a hypothetical proposition … and then said about it, it was morally reprehensible to recommend abortion of an entire group of people.

Notwithstanding all the huffing and puffing and outrage from the president on down, the fact of the matter is that the unmentionable elephant in the abortion debate is exactly what William Bennet spotlighted. Eugenics. Everyone knows that in the privacy of their Park Avenue high rises and Hamptons cottages, the pro-abortion supporters will whisper that the nation is better served if many of these black babies are prevented from being born.

William Bennett is unabashedly pro-life, as am I, and those on our side do not support the view that black babies are better off aborted. We believe that no babies should be aborted, as they all, black, brown, white and handicapped, deserve the right to life. Many on the other side, the “Pro-Choice” side, do wish for young black mothers-to-be to make that choice. That is a fact and “I do know that it’s true“.

UPDATE: If you doubt me, if you doubt that the pro-abortion movement targets black babies, watch this Planned Parenthood Promotional Video (WMV), hosted by CNSNews.com, because Planned Parenthood finally removed it from their site. It is a cartoon targeting black children by featuring sex and violence. A Christian preacher is told that he is ugly and dresses funny and called “trash” and then drowned. Pro-life demonstrators outside of an abortion clinic are blown up. Reverend Jerry Falwell is referred to by an Yiddish vulgarity and the Washington Monument is swathed in a giant condom. Every “good” person in the film is a person of color. Almost all of the villians are white. Why do you suppose that is? If you watch until the ending credits you will see Planned Parenthood, using a giant condom as a weapon, blast a U.S. Army helicopter out of the sky and behead a pro-life demonstrator.
