Al Franken, after becoming known from his performances on the comedy show “Saturday Night Live,” attempted the writing of some books on comedy. When those books failed to bring him much success, Al Franken discovered that he could ride the road to riches and success on the coattails of current popular conservative political pundits and others by including their names in the title of a book.

His first big success was “Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot.” That book set the stage for his continuing attacks on conservatives, as it played into the hands of those on the left who had already coined the gratuitous smear which was Franken’s choice of a title. Although totally without experience in political punditry, Al Franken became the “official expert” on Rush Limbaugh, whenever one was needed by the “in the tank” media, even though he had done no in depth research on Limbaugh, nor knew him personally.

Franken then presented himself as the Liberal alternative to Rush Limbaugh, again without much success. When the outspoken Bill O’Reilly topped the media charts, Franken again rushed to write another book hoping to once more glide to the Best Seller List whilst standing on the back of a popular conservative pundit. The repeated accusations in a Franken book are that the subjects of his books are liars, one and all. Yet, he describes himself as someone who holds himself “to an impossibly high standard when it comes to telling the truth.” That statement may be the only “truth” that Franken has ever spoken or written, as obviously his “impossibly high” standard has been impossible for even him to reach.

Alan Skorksi tells the truth about Al Franken and his “lying lies” in his book. Skorski’s book cannot be expected to be the big seller that Franken’s books about George Bush, Bill O’Reilly and Rush Limbaugh have been, because Skorski’s subject, Al Franken, is not at all a peer to any of them. The John Edwards campaign website proudly tauts his Father of the Year Award among the “family values” senator’s many accomplishments.

August 9, 2007: ABC News gushes over John and Elizabeth Edwards’ Renewal of their Wedding Vows. The countdown begins for the birth of Rielle’s “fatherless” child in seven months.

Oct. 10, 2007: The National Enquirer reports that Edwards had an affair with Hunter. Edwards dismisses the story as trash talk telling reporters: “The story is false. It’s completely untrue, ridiculous.” Rielle Hunter also denies the allegations. Knowing that her husband is lying to the American electorate, Elizabeth says nothing.

Dec. 19, 2007: The National Enquirer reports that Rielle Hunter is more than six months pregnant and has revealed to a close confidante that Edwards is the father of her baby. The scandal is squashed as ex-Edwards aide and family man, Andrew Young, 41, claims paternity.

Jan. 30, 2008: Edwards ends his campaign for the Democratic nomination, throwing his support to Obama. Hillary Clinton’s supporters feel slighted.

Feb. 27, 2008: Rielle Hunter gives birth to her daughter, Frances Quinn Hunter. Although Andrew Young claimed to be the sire, Ms. Hunter does not record a father on her daughter’s birth certificate.

July 22, 2008: The National Enquirer, acting upon an inside tip, confronts John Edwards, in the wee hours of the morning, secretly leaving the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. John Edwards runs and hides in the men’s restroom. The Enquirer claims he was visiting Ms. Hunter and “their” baby daughter.

July 23, 2008: At a news conference in Houston, Edwards says “the tabloid trash is full of lies.”

Aug. 6, 2008: National Enquirer publishes photos that it says are of Edwards with Rielle Hunter and of him with her baby.

Aug. 8, 2008: Edwards finally comes clean, sort of, and admits to having had an affair with Ms. Hunter while stating that the possiblity of him being the father of his mistress’s baby is quite impossible.

Aug. 8, 2008: Elizabeth Edwards in a blog posting writes that her husband made a “terrible mistake” but that the healing process was “oddly made somewhat easier” after her diagnosis of breast cancer in March 2007. She blames the media for the harm done to her family.

Aug. 8, 2008: Speaking to Bob Woodruff of ABC, John Edwards, 2007 Father of the Year, denies Rielle Hunter’s baby. “I don’t know who that baby is, I have no idea what that picture is.” Woodruff asks “… are you saying you don’t remember holding that child of Miss Hunter?” Edward answers “I don’t know who that baby is.” The reporter continues: “… you don’t remember a baby being there? ” For the third time John Edwards, Father of the Year, denies the baby: “No.”

Aug. 9, 2008: Big time John Edwards supporter, Dallas lawyer Fred Baron, reveals that he paid for Rielle Hunter and Andrew Young to move to California because they were being hounded by tabloids in North Carolina. The trial lawyer added that he paid all expenses directly, using his own money and not campaign funds, and that John Edwards knew nothing of it. He thereby saves John Edwards’ sorry hide from doing prison time. News outlets report that Rielle Hunter and Andrew Young are living in multimillion-dollar-homes and that each is receiving towering financial payments; Ms. Hunter’s amounting to $15,000 a month.

September 2008: Continuing with the audacity that never ends, religious politician John Edwards appears on the cover of the magazine of faith, culture and politics, “Sojourners” with his preaching inside. In a piece titled “The Right Thing to Do,” John Edwards explains how we can do something about poverty.

We must forgive John Edwards as he is a narcissist. However, should Elizabeth Edwards be forgiven for her lies to America?

Who are you going to believe - former Senator and Presidential candidate John Edwards, or the “National Enquirer?” That was my dilemma a few weeks ago, when I read conflicting news reports on the very same day that the Obama Campaign was considering John Edwards as its choice for Vice Presidential candidate. Because John Edwards condemned the National Enquirer revelation of his mistress, Rielle Hunter, as trash talk, I did not accept the story as true. Like many other Americans, once again I was taken in by a political liar. Because the mainstream media will no longer reveal to us the known moral failings of Democrats, we the American public must now learn to trust the “National Enquirer.” The Enquirer is correct now, and it has been correct in the past, a la Jesse Jackson.

Now to get to the “Rich Wretches” part of this story. It is agreed by all, including John Edwards himself, that he is a “Rich Wretch.” But what about Elizabeth Edwards? Is the picture painted of her by the mainstream media as the sainted, heroic, long-suffering wife, an accurate one? Incredibly, Mrs. Edwards has just published her diary at “Daily KOS” wherein she places most of the blame for the current Edwards scandal and its harm to her family on … you guessed it … the media! She even refers to America’s interest in the character of a Presidential candidate as “voyeurism.” At the very same instant she writes of her husband: “I am proud of the courage John showed by his honesty.” Mrs. Edwards even validates her husband’s claim that because he betrayed his marriage vows whilst she was in remission from cancer, not in the throes of the terminal illness, that it was somehow okay. No, I do not understand the meaning of that pronouncement. Perhaps America’s strong, liberated feminists, such as Elizabeth Edwards and Hillary Clinton can explain that one to the rest of us.

Elizabeth Edwards has every right as a private wife and mother to forgive or not forgive her jerk of a husband for cheating on her. However … her decision to publicly broadcast her support for John Edwards as a staunch family values candidate, when she knew he was nothing of the sort, shows her to be as much of a narcissistic deceiver as her husband. Her media-tauted courage in dealing with the loss of a child and her own cancer should not be a subterfuge for her deliberate attempts to mislead the American public into electing such a lying wretch as President.

Narcissist John Edwards felt he was entitled to cheat on his wife and family, and keep it secret from the American voters, because he was a Golden Boy who could do no wrong. Besides, he had incredible monetary resources from campaign donors and his own family’s wealth to pay any hush money needed. Elizabeth Edwards agreed that they and their accomplices in the media could keep his mistress and her baby hidden while he was running for President of the United States. Surely the mainstream media would not stoop so low as to tell its readers the real sordid truth, they believed. Because Elizabeth Edwards has known of her husband’s betrayal at least since last fall when the National Enquirer first broke the story, it shows that she was an accomplice to the Edwards Campaign sham. Elizabeth Edwards knowingly encouraged her husband to enter the Presidential campaign and enthusiastically propagated the false image of John Edwards as a devoted husband and family man.

Elizabeth Edwards was so ambitious of her husband gaining the United State presidency, not even her own metastasized cancer stood in the way. Facing a terminal illness, she was still willing to lie to all America about the character of her husband.

MSNBC goes bonkers:
A petite 18-year-old New Jersey girl is raped and murdered, and to MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann, that horrific crime merely shows Bill O’Reilly of Fox News to be - “today’s worst person in the world.” Should not the rapist-murderer come in with at least an honorable mention, MSNBC?

To MSNBC’s Tucker Carlson, who in his bow tie days was a voice of sanity at that lunatic media world, Bill O’Reilly is somehow culpable for the young girl’s tragic misfortune and death. In Tucker Carlson’s America, any woman can walk alone on the streets in the dead of night, half naked and drunk, and fully expect to remain perfectly safe and unmolested.

Apparently, the young woman fell prey to the horrific crime by believing in Tucker Carlson’s Utopia. Therefore, using MSNBC’s own logic, should not Tucker Carlson be blamed for the rape and murder, as the poor victim was following HIS advice about walking the streets at night?

Word of the Day — DUMBOLIC
Apparently liberals have tired of their usual mantra of “racist, sexist, anti-gay” when describing conservatives. Now under the tutelage of an anonymous journalist they are hurling a new epithet — “dumbolic.”

In “Why Drudge is a Disgrace,” Anonymous (aka Joe Klein) writes “How stupid does he think we are? Answer: Extremely dumbolic.”

What does “dumbolic” mean? The word is not found in any dictionary, but it must mean something as it is being used by a genuine MSN-credentialed journalist, which is what Anonymous (aka Joe Klein) is. And, he is using the word to describe himself and other like-minded liberals.

He is calling Drudge shameless for reporting that Hillary’s vision for America will require that proof of health insurance be required to obtain a job. Anonymous (aka Joe Klein) even links to the story to prove his point:

“At this point, we don’t have anything punitive that we have proposed,” the presidential candidate said in an interview with The Associated Press. “We’re providing incentives and tax credits which we think will be very attractive to the vast majority of Americans.”

She said she could envision a day when “you have to show proof to your employer that you’re insured as a part of the job interview — like when your kid goes to school and has to show proof of vaccination,” but said such details would be worked out through negotiations with Congress.

His link only proves that Drudge’s interpretation of the Hillary quote was correct. I think “dumbolic” must describe a journalist who shoots off his/her mouth upon reading only the headline, not the entire story. It certainly does not describe Drudge, as he did indeed carefully read the entire news story of the AP Interview with Hillary about Her Hillary-Care plans for the rest of us.

Hey! There’s a war going on, didn’t you know?

If you think you did know, you are likely wrong. That war between Osama Bin Laden and George Bush is a cat and mouse game compared to the real war that America’s television viewers are subjected to. I am speaking of the nightly blood feud and battle between MSNBC and Fox News. OMG - it is quite hard to believe, but those MSNBCers are really warmongers in peacenik’s clothing. Just tune in to any MSNBC program, at any time, day or night, to hear that “Today’s Worst Person in the World” is someone who is employed by Fox News, or as the MSNBCers cutely say “Faux Noise.” Yes, I know, it just proves that MSNBC not only doesn’t know French, it doesn’t know SQUAT either.

There is good reason why Keith Olbermann is oblivious to the world wide war on terror that is raging. He is aware of and only interested in the war going on between himself and Bill O’Reilly, which is a sub-war of the MSNBC - FoxNews War. Thus far the Olbermann - O’Reilly war has been fought upon the bloodless battlefield of America’s cable news screens. If the slug-fest gets really rough, Olbermann does risk losing his toupee, but not his entire head as can happen when one goes up against the real Islamo-terrorists that he refuses to recognize.

Give credit where credit is due, though, in contrast to most of the MSM, Olbermann’s show did actually mention the foiled bomb plots in London: “Today you had two non-bombs in London … This was an incendiary, this was not a high explosive.” Case closed. Now on to that dastardly Today’s Worst Terrorist in the World: Bill O’Reilly thingy.

What if the non-bombs had actually exploded, as the non-terrorists had planned? Olbemann would have then blamed it on global warming causing the ignitions and then continue on to that tired and tedious “Today’s Worst Terrorist in the World: Bill O’Reilly” mantra of his. No wonder MSNBC is losing the ratings game.

“Conversion a thorny issue in Muslim world” By Rachel Morarjee and Dan Murphy

That headline from “The Christian Science Monitor” wins as today’s most "understated" reporting from the Mainstream Media. Just imagine for one moment that Christians were tracking down baptised and christened self-proclaimed atheists and beheading them in the town square, or that Christian converts to Islam were being hanged upon the gallows, or that Christians were executing their own family members for being apostates. Does anyone with a brain think that American newspapers would be referring to those happenings as “Conversion a thorny issue in Christian world?”

Come on now Kerfuffles, it could have been worse you say. Look on the bright side. At least they did NOT write: "Conversion a ’sticky wicket’ in Muslim world". TGFSF At least "The Christian Science Monitor" tells up upfront about the so-called mainstream Muslims:

Helen Thomas told the newspaper that she would promptly kill herself if Vice President Dick Cheney were to ever even run for the office of President. Although some Americans have threatened to leave for Canada or Europe at the elections of certain political figures, never before in American history has anyone been so politically passionate as to kill one’s self because of an unelected candidate. Ms. Thomas revealed herself to The Hill News saying: “The day I say Dick Cheney is going to run for president, I’ll kill myself. All we need is one more liar.” Needless to say, many conservatives responded “why wait until then?” However, everyone knew that those partisans were merely concerned with the speculation that Mr. Cheney will never be a candidate.

It was about this point in time that the White House removed the “so-called” reporter to the back row of the press briefing room and no longer called upon her for questions. It was believed that move was a consequence of the veteran journalist’s constant criticism of President Bush, such as calling him a “Texas cowboy”. That “Texas cowboy” phrase should have given her away, as everyone knows that you don’t mess with Texas and live to tell any tales. Even though journalists know that Americans love and admire cowboys, most of the MSM swallowed hook, line and sinker, the bait of evil genius Karl Rove. Few realized that Helen Thomas was in fact working hand in glove with Mr. Rove and President Bush in exchange for the privilege of living in the White House attic, rent-free, with all the honorifics accruing to such a prestigious address. Helen Thomas, in recognition of her White House Attic residency status, was awarded the title of “Grand Auntie Kleagle” by the “National Crazy Aunts in the Attic Society”.

Grand Auntie Kleagle Helen Thomas was able to reward her beloved President George W. Bush and evil genius Karl Rove, when on 21 March 2006, she took the President’s lead when he called upon her, and demonstrated to the world the partisanship of almost the entire White House Press Corps, and the American MSM took the bait and revealed themselves as the jackasses they are - Democrats.
